Call for Presentation Proposals

Conference Title: Exploring Dimensions of Grief and Bereavement: The Ongoing Effects of the COVID Pandemic

Date: Saturday, September 23, 2023
Venue: Virtually on Zoom (online)
Conference Time: 10am to 3pm CT
Presentation Sessions: 50 minutes

Overview: The COVID Pandemic continues to leave in its wake loss, grief, and fears along with untold implications for the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of many people. This process of bereavement is central to the work of faith community nurses.

Audience: The Faith Community Nurses International Conference (FCNIC) is a learning opportunity for faith community nurses, parish nurses, nurses, and other interested professionals. Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) credit will be awarded upon successful completion by nurses.

Projected Objectives:

  • 1.  Explore loss, grief, and bereavement
  • 2.  Identify the impact of the COVID Pandemic and other community-based tragedies on the faith community and faith community nurse
  • 3.  Discuss strategies at the personal, communal, and organizational level that can be used to respond to loss, grief, and bereavement
Keynote Presentation:

Kathy Schoonover-Shoffner, PhD, MSN, National Director, Nurses Christian Fellowship USA, Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Christian Nursing will be delivering the Susan Mills Keynote presentation:




Presentation Proposals are being accepted:

Submission Window:
Opened on: Friday, April 13th, 2023 at midnight CT
Closes on: Monday, June 5th, 2023 at midnight CT

Presenters will be expected to register for the conference, but will receive a reduction in program registration.
