FCN Organizations


Faith Community Nurses International (FCNI) is the international professional membership organization for Parish Nurses, Faith Community Nurses, and faith-based nurses.  The vision of FCNI is to create a vibrant global network of Faith Community Nurses through advancing the nursing specialty, networking, research, education, and evidence-based practice (EBP).  FCNI offers free access to the International Journal of Faith Community Nursing, offers an annual  General Membership Meeting, the Research Forum, online educational programs, a newsletter, networking on Facebook, committee involvement, and resources.




The Concordia University in Mequon, WI offers an annual Christian Caregiving Conference.  They will be offering the 28th annual Christian Caregiving Conference on Monday, June 1, 2020.  Registration open on April 6th.  See their event website.






Evangelical Lutheran Parish Nurse Association (ELPNA) is a national organization affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, however offers membership to Parish Nurses/Faith Community Nurses within an ELCA or other Lutheran congregation. Grants applications are available for starting a Parish Nurse/Faith Community Nurse program on a national basis. Their workshops and seminars are open to nonmembers.



Health Ministries Association (HMA) is "A convergence of health promotion and religious beliefs."  Membership is open to chaplains, clergy, faculty, faith community nurses, health ministers, and program leaders "who develop and provide health ministries in diverse faith communities."  HMA offers an annual national conference.   HMA and the American Nurses Association (ANA) are the authors of the Faith Community Nursing Scope and Standards, 3rd ed and HMA is the author of The Health Minister Role: Guidelines and Foundational Curriculum Elements, 2nd ed. 





InterVarsity Nurses Christian Fellowship (NCF)mpublishes
the Journal of Christian Nursing free to NCF members.



The Westberg Institute is a ministry of the Spiritual Care Association offering education, consultation, and research for over 30 years and serving health ministry programs worldwide.  The mission of the Westberg Institute is ...to promote the development of high-quality outcomes-based FCN practice as part of an overall health ministry program."  They publish Perspectives quarterly, conduct an annual seminar, and provide the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing curriculum manuals.
